I grew up outdoors. Camping and hiking were a way of life for me and my family. I hiked Hinchinbrook Island at the tender age of four. 32 km in 7 days with very short legs.

The next couple of decades of trekking around and over mountains would inevitably lead me to climb up them.

Through the years, some sort of camera was always slung over my shoulder as I tried to capture the detail and sometimes harsh but striking beauty of my experiences. Eventually my travels took me to Europe for over a year, and my interest in photography strengthened as I found my days had even more impact when I saw them through my lens.

It wasn’t until a year ago, on a climbing trip on the island of Kalymnos, Greece, I realised I enjoyed taking pictures of climbers as much as I enjoyed climbing myself. As I understand the determination needed, but also the joy and challenge of tackling a climb, I have grown passionate about capturing other climbers’ struggles and success.
